Write the name of the publisher or sponsor of the website followed by a comma. If there is no publishing organization or institution write "n.p." in italics followed by a comma. Write the date that the website data was created followed by a period. If there is no creation date available write "n.d." followed by a period.
Write the word "Web" to indicate where your source came from followed by a period. Write the day, month and year without punctuation between to indicate the date of your visit to the website and follow it with a period.
Cite a college course or department website online by writing the name of the professor, (last, first) followed by a period. Write the name of the course in italics and followed by a period. Write the name of the college followed by a comma. Write the date the data was created by abbreviated month, for example "Apr." then one space and the year followed by a period. Write the word "Web" followed by a period. Write the date of your visit to the site in day, month and year format with no separating punctuation. End with a period.
Cite an article within a larger website by writing the author's name (last, first) and then a period. Write the title in quotation marks and followed by a period. Write the name of the website in italics followed by a period. Write the publish date followed by a period. Write the word "Web" followed by a period. Write the date of your visit to the site and end with a period.
Cite an article in a web magazine by writing the author's name (last, first) followed by a period. Write the title of the article in quotations and followed by a period. Write the name of the magazine in italics followed by a period. Write the name of the publishing company followed by a period. Write the publishing date and then a period. Write the word "Web" and then a period. Write the date of your visit to the site.
Create in-text citations for web sources by listing the appropriate information in parentheses at the end of the sentence. The parenthetical citation should consist of one of the following in order of importance: author's name, corporate author, article title (first two to three words is sufficient), or website title followed by a comma and the page number, if applicable.
