Find a group of participants who would like to be a part of your edible book fair. If you are a teacher, enlist your class. If you are a parent, enlist your kids and their friends. If you are a reading enthusiast, work on convincing a small group of friends to join in.
Write down each participant's name in a notebook. Number each name and tell participants that this is the order of presentations. Ask them to choose the book they plan to read. Write the title of the book down next to the participant's name. If you are a teacher or a parent, you may wish to give students or kids an option from a list of books you choose.
Create a reading schedule and write it down in your notebook. You will need to decide how long participants have to read their books. If people have busy schedules, two to three weeks should give them enough time to read and plan out a dish. Tell everyone to write down the date of the actual book fair so that they can plan ahead.
Choose a location for the book fair. If you are a teacher, it can be your class room. If you are a parent or a friend, it can be your house. Let participants know when and where the book fair will be and what time you plan to start and finish it. Give each participant five to ten minutes to explain their book and dish. Then plan for serving and eating the food and hanging out afterward.
Keep in touch with participants to make sure they're on schedule so that everyone will be ready on the day of the book fair.
Purchase disposable plates, napkins, cups and utensils so that all food can be served and eaten on the day of the book fair.
