The Liturgical Arts Festival of Springfield, Illinois, is a faith-based, non-profit organization founded in 1995 by a group of clergymen, artists and volunteers. The art fair was established to increase public awareness of spirituality in the arts. Every two years, the Liturgical Arts Festival comes to Springfield to showcase sacred artwork by noted and community artists. A Young Artist exhibit from area high school students is also presented. The festival features music performances by Baptist, Catholic and Presbyterian choirs, church service and faith-based workshops. Admission to the 3-day art festival is free.

The Old Capitol Art Fair hosted in downtown Springfield, Illinois was established to contribute to Central Illinois' cultural, social and economic growth. Due to its yearly success, the fair has been acknowledged as the premier arts festival model for fairs in all other Illinois cities, according to its official website. Famous and local artists' artwork, as well as jewelry, sculptures, photography, glassware and pottery, wood and metalwork are among some of the festival's exhibits in 2010. There will be a children's tent that allows kids to purchase moderately priced art pieces ($4-$6). Food and beverage pavilions are located throughout the site. Entrance is free for all ages.

Decatur's Lakeside Music & Arts Festival takes place in central Illinois' Nelson Park alongside Lake Decatur. The arts festival will showcase artwork, music, theater arts performances and and culinary arts exhibits. The art festival will have over 100 local and noted artisans showcasing their talents in glass sculpting, woodwork, photography, pottery/ceramic making, jewelry making and painting. Other creative showcases are clothing, handbags and accessories designs. For children, Lakeside Music and Arts Festival will feature an art booth and ceramics space that allows children to design their own art pieces for take-home or display. Live demonstrations such as glassblowing, pottery and food demonstrations will be showcased. The main stage will spotlight an eclectic mix of international music from local bands and musicians.
