Craft Festivals in Georgia

For dedicated crafters and their fans, arts and crafts festivals can be fun events to meet with like-minded folks while finding fun home décor and one-of-a-kind products. All over the state of Georgia, several annual arts and crafts festivals feature artists displaying and selling their crafts.
  1. Wild Azalea Festival

    • The whole family is welcome to this arts and crafts festival located in Morrow, Georgia. Taking place annually in the months of March or April—just as the azaleas start to bloom—it is held at the Reynolds Nature Preserve. Six-hundred is the average number of attendees at this outdoor event celebrating the start of spring and the beauty of floral blooms. Among the arts and crafts are nature and animal exhibits, food vendors and museum tours.

    Springfest

    • Also taking place each spring is the annual Springfest of Mitchell, Georgia. Located on Main Street, 2,500 visitors typically attend this family-friendly and traditional arts and crafts festival. Considering the very small town has a population of less than 200 people, people must come from far and wide to explore the sale counters. Mitchell is approximately two hours from Macon, the closest large city.

    Atlanta Arts Festival

    • Hosted by Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia, this arts and crafts festival takes place over a two-day weekend each year during September. In addition to the arts and crafts available for viewing and purchase, there is also live music, artistic street performances and plenty of food to buy from local and national vendors. Admission to the event is free, though some interactive activities may require a small fee. The festival will continue as scheduled, rain or shine.

    Indie Craft Experience

    • Also located in Atlanta, Georgia, is the Indie Craft Experience. The I.C.E., as it is commonly called, used to also host an annual summer crafts show as well as monthly events, but now they only host a show in November of each year. Hosted by Ambient Plus Studio, this event is ideal for unconventional and hip crafters. Don’t expect to find traditional quilts or whittled lawn ornaments—unless they are presented with a quirky, tongue-in-cheek spin.
