Over 100 fine artists who are selected by a jury participate in the Thunderbird Artists Fine Art and Wine Festival, held in the City North shopping district in northeast Phoenix. Artists show their works in watercolor, bronze, metal and clay. Pottery, jewelry and photography are also on display. Visitors can taste domestic and imported wines for an additional fee, and local musicians provide entertainment. City North has several shops, boutiques and restaurants located within walking distance of the festival.

Held annually since 1970, the Scottsdale Arts Festival attracts artists from around the nation for this three-day event, which features jury-selected artwork, live music and a variety of gourmet food and wine. The festival is held on the grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center, which includes two outdoor stages and room for nearly 200 art booths. The festival is adjacent to the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, providing the opportunity to view other artwork on display in the gallery.

Twice a year, Mill Avenue near Arizona State University in Tempe is closed to vehicle traffic and becomes the site of the Tempe Festival of the Arts. The three-day festival attracts nearly 250,000 visitors to its live music venues and 400 art booths. A jury of local artists selects the art from applicants from across the country and chooses the top artist in each of 18 categories. The restaurants and bars along Mill Avenue provide numerous dining options for visitors. Admission to the event is free.
