Phoenix Art Festivals in March

As the state capital of Arizona, Phoenix serves as the state's primary center of culture and hosts a bevy of artwork festivals throughout the year, including during March. Phoenix's March temperatures are moderate, which allows artists to display their works in the city's outdoor art walk events, such as the Art Detour and Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festival. The Phoenix Art Museum, located in downtown Phoenix, also hosts events in March.
  1. Art Detour

    • Art Detour is monthly arts festival in Phoenix's downtown area. The event occurs on the first Friday of every month. This art festival features art from artists in the Phoenix area and throughout the United States. Visitors take self-guided tours to view art galleries and streetside art booths throughout the downtown district. Free parking is available at the Phoenix Art Museum; shuttle buses are available from the museum to the Art Detour event. Admission is free. During this event, some of Downtown Phoenix's streets are closed, including Roosevelt Street, Seventh Street and Central Avenue.

    Arts and Flowers

    • Hosted at the Phoenix Art Museum, Arts and Flowers is an annual event in March. Founded in 2005, this event exhibits paintings of flowers, accompanied by floral arrangements. The floral arrangements are designed by local florists. The event is a four-day event, usually held on Thursdays through Sundays. The Phoenix Art Museum League, a volunteer-based organization, hosts the event. The League donates all proceeds from the Arts and Flowers event to the Phoenix Art Museum.

    Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festival

    • The Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festival is in Carefree, a Greater Phoenix suburb, and occurs in the city's downtown district. This art festival features more than 5,000 works from artists in the Greater Phoenix area and throughout the United States. This event allows visitors to take self-guided walks past the art pieces, which are inside galleries or curbside. Much of the work displayed at this festival have Southwest or Native American themes. As of winter 2011, admission is only $3. This festival is also home to Arizona's largest wine tasting event. The Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festival is hosted by the Thunderbird Artists group. Parking is free on all of downtown Carefree streets and lots.

    Phoenix Sister Cities World Fest

    • World Fest is a three-day event at Phoenix's Heritage Park. This event allow Phoenix natives to view cultural aspects from the it's sister cities, such as paintings, sculptures, food and music entertainment. The list of Phoenix's sister cities include Calgary, Canada; Prague, Czech Republic; Grenoble, France; and Taipei, Taiwan. This event was founded in 2006. Admission is free. Specific attractions within the festival include Kids World and Sister Cities Village – both of these sites feature art pieces from Phoenix's sister cities.
