Flash Page Flip Book Tutorial

Flash Page Flip, or FPF, is a ready-to-use, open-source JavaScript library used to embed Adobe Flash content onto website pages. It supports SWF and JPG image files. You don't have to use Flash software to make your flipping book with FPF. Flipping books are a kind of moving photo carousel you can create on your website. The viewer clicks on a button and your carousel of photos revolves. You can stop the carousel and click on a picture to make it pop out in a larger format for easier viewing.

Log onto the FlashPageFlip website and click on the "Free" button. This will open a menu of flip book formats.

    • 2

Choose the flip book template you want to use from more than 40 options by clicking on the flip book sample. A template will open. With it, you will receive step-by-step instructions on creating your own flip book.

Add images and select from a menu of transitions which are ways that one image segues into the next in your flip book, skins which are background formats that will add dramatic color and texture to your flip book -- as well as animations, text color and type styles. You can also integrate various styles of menus that viewers can click on to select photos and text, and recorded music that will play in the background. All of these options can be selected from the menus that run across the top, and down both sides of the flip book template.
