Art Festivals in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a well-known center for artistic expression and emerging trends in the art world, so it comes as no surprise that the city is home to several important art festivals every year. From mainstream art to highly specific art genres, the festivals of Los Angeles celebrate every kind of art and bring together artists and enthusiasts from all over the United States.
  1. Los Angeles Art Show

    • The first Los Angeles Art Show took place in January, 1995. Sixteen years later, it is still held every January during the city's annual Arts Month. The five-day show features Old Master, Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary works of art from all over the world and hosts tens of thousands of international artists and fans every year. In 2011, the LAAS will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center beginning January 19.

    Affaire in the Gardens Art Show

    • This two-day, twice-annual (one in the spring, another in the fall) Beverly Hills art fest is completely free to the public and showcases art from nine different mediums, including ceramics, printmaking and drawing. The event is held outdoors and features the work of over 200 different artists from all over the United States. Attendees enjoy live musical entertainment and can purchase food and beverages on-site.

    Hermosa Beach Art Walk

    • The Hermosa Beach Art Walk is in its eighth year in 2011. The free event, which is dedicated to showcasing the work of local artists, is held along Pacific Coast Highway near Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach. Visitors enjoy live musical entertainment and food as they stroll through the myriad booths and explore the fruits of undiscovered local talent.

    Festival of the Arts and Pageant of the Master

    • As "California's Premier Fine Arts Show," this nearly two-month-long Laguna Beach event is one of the most popular art festivals in Los Angeles. It features the work of nearly 150 local artists, live entertainment and plenty of activities and events. In addition to local talent, the festival celebrates the fine art of the past century at the pageant, where local volunteers dress up and stand in front of backdrops to recreate some of the most famous paintings in the world.
