How to Make a Paper Halo Energy Sword

The Covenant energy sword is a powerful and deadly weapon used exclusively by the higher ranked Elites to slaughter human soldiers in close-quarters combat. Elite energy swords were first wielded in “Halo: Combat Evolved” for the Xbox and PC in 2001. The Halo series details humanity’s struggle to survive annihilation from the merciless alien races of the Covenant. Once liberated from the cold reptilian claws of an Elite warrior, this exotic melee weapon can be wielded by human combatants such as the heavily armored Spartans. Creative fans can craft their own customized paper Halo energy swords to proudly display and engage in play combat with another Halo enthusiast.

• Cardboard sheet
• Printer paper
• Box cutter
• Glue
• Markers
• Crayon

Instructions

     Trace a large symmetrical energy sword on the piece of cardboard. Use a pencil or marker to draw the energy sword’s design.

     Cut out the sword using a box cutter.

     Wrap the sword with printer paper and cut it to fit snugly around the edges.

   • 4

     Glue the paper down with minimal adhesive to prevent unsightly glue blobs.

   • 5

     Color the paper blue, purple and white to simulate the surging alien plasma powering the weapon. Use markers, crayons, paint or whatever coloring tools have the best ascetic effect.
