Arts Abroad, based in Washington D.C. is a summer arts program for high school students and for young college students. These programs are held overseas during the summer by educated, professional artists and teachers. Programs are offered for both the visual and performing arts. The classes available will range depending on the particular focus the student chooses. Not only does a camp attendee come away with an international study experience, attending the camp also pads any college application.
Eagle Arts is a summer arts camp for ages 5 to 17. This academy offers both day and residential programs for students. Located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, professional artists and teachers instruct classes in both the visual and performing arts in a picturesque setting. Camp attendees pre-select their classes online prior to arriving at camp. The academy also offers lake-side recreation and sports, parties, talent shows, gaming nights and character development programs.
Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, hidden away in the Alleghenies and over 1000 feet above the Susquehanna River Valley sits the 150-year-old restored farm. The Farm has been a summer arts camp/retreat for boys and girls ages 6 to 16 since 1964. The camp's philosophy is to teach students to harmonize with the natural environment while enhancing their creative talents. The camp is run in a non-competitive fashion, and each student is allowed to work at his or her own pace. The camp is run by professional educators and artists where quality education is provided along with nutritious foods and a natural environment.
Oxbow School, located in Napa California, is an art high school as well as a summer art camp. As of 2011, for the past 12 years, the Oxbow School offers a one-semester, visual art camp for high school juniors and seniors nationwide. Oxbow strongly believes in educational advancement through enhancing creative young minds in the visual arts. Students choose their focus of study prior to attending camp. The staff is run by professional art teachers who generally teach at the Oxbow school during the school year as well.
