The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation offers arts funding to New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, the District of Columbia, West Virginia and the US Virgin Islands. Four program areas comprise the funding options available to artists: Presenting, Touring and Exhibiting, Knowledge Building, Special Projects, and Artist Support, Projects and Residencies. Along with providing financial support to arts organizations, the foundation also provides funding to individual artists through direct grants or by offering the grants to the organization that provides the artists' salary.

The National Endowment for the Arts provide funding for a variety of artistic fields including theater, dance, music, opera and visual arts so long as the organization offers educational programs. The grants offered through the NEA only last for year, therefore the grant process must be repeated each year to maintain funding. Among the grants available are the Access to Artistic Excellence, Challenge America Fast-Track Review Grants and Arts for Children and Youth, which applies to curriculum-based arts projects.

The New York Foundation for the Arts supports New York City-based artists and arts organizations. The funding available through the foundation is awarded to a variety of arts projects in both the visual and performing arts. The foundation also provides affordable work spaces for artists in need of place to create or administer their work. Along with grants, NYFA also awards $7,000 Artist’s Fellowships to artists who make their home in New York State. The artists must reside in the state for two years and not be enrolled in any degree programs.

With a focus on funding arts organizations and artists in California, the California Arts Council provides grants in a number of programs including Artists In Schools and Creating Public Value. The Artists In Schools program supports schools and artists who work together in arts residency projects both in school and after-school classes and activities. The Creating Public Value program provides funding to arts in rural and poor communities. The council also works with county supervisors and local governments to promote, develop and sustain arts groups and artists.
