Art Shows in Maine in October

Since the mid-19th century, when artists such as Thomas Cole and Fitz Hugh Lane came to Maine, the state has been inspiring art. Besides seasonal art shows, the area is home to seven art museums forming the Maine Art Museum Trail. These museums include Portland Museum of Art, University of Maine Museum of Art, Colby College Museum of Art, Bates College Museum of Art, Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Farmsworth Art Museum, and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.

It offers over 140 different exhibitors and is free to attend.
