How to Fix Dented Hair on a Plastic Wig

Fixing dented hair on a plastic wig is a delicate proposition. Running a comb through dry synthetic hair can cause it to rip and tear. Pulling at knots -- with comb bristles or fingers -- may result in unintentionally tightening the tangle. Fixing synthetic hair is a simple process -- if you do it right. Prepare all of your materials before you begin, so you are ready to breathe new life into your plastic wig.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a medium-sized bowl with three parts water and one part fabric softener. Stir the contents together thoroughly.

    • 2

Fully soak the dented plastic wig in the bowl for at least 24 hours. Soaking the wig allows the fabric softener to eliminate tensions, indentations and depressions in the synthetic material.

    • 3

Remove the wig and easily run a clean comb or brush through the locks, to remove all bends and dents.

    • 4

Pat the wig dry with a clean, soft cloth.
