Who wrote joy to the world?

The text of "Joy to the World" was written by Isaac Watts in 1719. It was originally published in his book "The Psalms of David Imitated in the Language of the New Testament" and was set to music by various composers over the years. The most well-known musical arrangement of "Joy to the World" is attributed to George Frideric Handel, who arranged it in 1740. Handel's arrangement is based on an earlier melody from Psalm 98.
