Inside The B.O.B. (an acronym for Big Old Building) in downtown Grand Rapids, entertainment abounds. The four-story, 70,000-square-foot red brick building was built in 1903 as a grocery warehouse. Today, The B.O.B houses a brewery, a steakhouse, several lounges, a nightclub and Dr. Grin's Comedy Club.
Dr. Grin's Comedy Club highlights nationally known stand-up comedians along with comedic theater. Famous performers who have performed at Dr. Grin's include Bobcat Goldwaith, Kevin Nealon, Pauly Shore and Aries Spears. As of 2010, two shows are offered on Friday and Saturday nights and one on Thursdays. The early show on Saturday is non-smoking. Specialty martinis, metropolitans and other drinks are offered. The munchies menu concentrates on select appetizers such as onion-rings, spinach artichoke dip, wings, breadsticks and pizzas for the entree.
Before or after the show, live music is available elsewhere at The B.O.B. Future plans include expansion into "Bobville," with even more entertainment choices.
