How to Find a Song Title From a Word

It happens all the time: You're trying to think of a song, but all you can remember is one word of the title. Before the advent of the Internet and its infinite websites, you may have had to think a very long time and ask everyone you knew before coming up with the title. Now all you need is Internet access and a few minutes to find a website that gets the job done in a flash. These websites can frequently supply lyrics and the names of the recording artists as well.

Put the words "song title" or "song titles" in your search engine. Don't bother trying to enter your entire question (e.g., "What song has the word 'romance' in it?"). Search engines like things nice and simple, and you can't get simpler than "song title." You will only get bogged down if you try to ask too much in your initial quest, so keep it simple.

Look at the first few websites on the first page of the results. These will be websites designed to help you find the information you seek. Some sites find song titles with a particular word, and some can search for a song with a certain phrase within the lyrics.

Choose a website. Again, a helpful choice will be obvious. When you open the website, you will see a search engine that will find your title if you can supply just one word. Type in the words contained in the song title and hit "search." You may have to scan dozens of possibilities before you find the song you have in mind.
