How to Find Album Track Names

If you have ever had a song stuck in your head and have wondered what the name is, you know how frustrating it can be not to know the title or which album it appears on. Fortunately, with only a few minutes of your time and some basic information about the song, you can quickly locate the song title, artist and the album that features the song.

      Go to a website where you would traditionally purchase a CD such as Amazon if you know the album name. Type in the name of the album. Click on the product for more information. Scroll to the bottom of the page for a list of song names and a short audio sample for each song.

      Go to an online music site such as Yahoo! Music. Type in the name of the song you like or any song title that you think is on the album. The name of the artist and the album will pop up along with the link for the song. Click on the album name to see all the titles on the album.

      Go to a music library such as Find the CD online. Type in as much information as you know. Fields are available to type in the artist, album name and track name. Click on "Search." A list of songs that match your criteria will populate the screen.

      Go online to a search engine if you do not know the artist, album or any other track name on the album. Type in a string of lyrics. Be sure that you have typed in the lyrics verbatim. Click on the link that will most likely match up with a song lyric website. Write down the album name and go back to Step 1.

      Go to a song lyric website such as Song Lyrics or ELyrics (see Resources). Search for the artist's name in the search box. Click underneath artist matches. Every available album from the artist will appear. Click on the album name for details on the song.
