Grants for Youth Organizations That Focus on Choral Music

Youth choral organizations provide young people with a musical outlet that can turn into a lifelong long of music or even a career. Oftentimes, these groups are underfunded. But there are grant programs available specifically for all types of choral groups. These grants are generally given out on a local or regional level
  1. Choral Arts Foundation of the Upper Valley's Grants Program

    • The Choral Arts Foundation of the Upper Valley's Grants Program provides grants to choral organizations that operate within the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. Certain projects are given preference, including those that promote youth participation in choral programs, those that support projects benefiting preexisting choral programs, projects that increase the Upper Valley choral community and those that reach out to underserved populations. Eligible funding includes guest performance costs, vocal coaching, going to festivals or paying for workshops. Funds may not be used for projects like obtaining or fixing equipment, buying music, paying for marketing fees and paying for operating budgets.

    YouthReach Initiative

    • The Massachusetts Cultural Council's YouthReach Initiative grant is awarded to non-profit organizations, community groups, artists and schools that focus on the arts, humanities or sciences. The YouthReach Initiative funds programs that specifically target at-risk youth and that incorporate the arts, humanities and sciences with extracurricular or after-school activities. The goal of this program is to help at-risk youth from low-income or violent backgrounds, or those that have some type of disability. The grant benefits programs that help bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood. The deadline for this program is spring, and grant monies vary based on need.

    Choral Arts New England Grants

    • The Choral Arts New England grants program provides grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 to New England choral groups, choral parent groups, church choirs, school choruses, New England organizations that offers support or funding to choral music. This grant is only open to non-profit organizations. In some cases, larger funds of money may be available, but these additional funds must be requested. Organizations must complete the application, and they must also include eight copies of their financial statements. Supporting materials should also be included with the application, and these can be things like programs and press clippings. The deadline for this grant is February.
