The National Endowment for the Arts, an independent federal agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, is the United States’ largest annual funder for arts projects. Its Access to Artistic Excellence Program supports a wide array of arts fields including music.
Through this program, musicians can apply for domestic touring activities geared toward the goals of the agency in employing the arts to strengthen communities, extending the arts to underserved populations and providing public or private presentations and performances of artistically excellent works. Touring grants for musicians also promote professional artistic development so that artists can experience and participate in various music events and festivals.

The Division of Cultural Affairs of Florida administers grant programs that support the arts and culture of Florida. Aside from a number of grants available for various art fields, the division also offers the State Touring Program where qualified applicants can apply for tour grants. Applicants must be professional artists of legal age and they must be Florida-based individuals, groups or organizations. For musicians and music groups, applications must be geared toward the State Touring Program's purpose of bringing live performance to every corner of the state of Florida. Grantees are selected by a panel reviewing the applications and making specific recommendations for those to be included on the annual grantees' roster.
