Plan your layout and use software to create your karaoke songbook. You can purchase software or use something on your computer. OpenOffice is free and has a spreadsheet program ideal for creating karaoke songbooks for organizing your material. There are also numerous programs you can purchase specifically for organizing your catalog. Whichever program you select, the key is to create a layout that offers you the most flexibility.
Create five columns. Name the five column headings as: DISC #, DISC TITLE, ARTIST, GENRE, SONG TITLES. Add more columns if you want to add additional headings such as TYPE (duet, ballad, etc).
Type the number of the disc in the DISC # column and type the title of the disc under the DISC TITLE heading. For artist, either type an artist's name or type "various" if there are several artists. Write the type of music on the disc under the GENRE heading. Use the word "mixed" if it is varied. Include the title of each song on every disc under the "SONG TITLE" heading and alphabetize the songs to make locating them easy.
Set the font size of your text to 18 and select a legible font such as Times New Roman. This will make your songbook easier for you or someone else to read if you're in a club with low lighting.
