How to Copy Albums to a CD

Copying albums to a CD is, with the use of home computers and free software programs, a simple, straightforward task. Being able to do this from the comfort of home, on your own computer means that you have the freedom to make copies of your favorite CDs for friends, family and loved ones. It also means that you can copy a CD for back-up in case the original gets damaged. Whatever your reason, copying albums to CD is an extremely useful, and modern, process.

  • CD burning software
  • Audio CD
  • Blank CD-R

      Click on your music burning software's icon to open the program; the program you use can be Windows Media Player, iTunes or any other program with CD burning capabilities.

      Insert the album you wish to copy into your computer's CD drive. Select "Import" on your music burning software. Repeat this step for any other albums you wish to copy.

      Go to "File" then "New Playlist." Type in the name of the album you are copying into the box supplied.

      Click and drag your imported album into your re-named playlist file. Insert a blank CD-R into your computer's disc drive. Click on the "Burn" tab.
