How to Copy a Music CD to a Disk

Copying your music CD to your computer's local hard disk can be an alternative method of safeguarding your music. Once copied, you can play your music from your local hard disk when using the computer, without the use of the music CD.If you ever lose your original music CD, you can create a new one using the copied music files. You can copy your music CD to your local hard disk using "Windows Media Player."

      Insert the music CD into your disc drive.

      Double-click on the "Windows Media Player" shortcut on your desktop to launch the media player.

      Click "Copy from CD" in the left-hand side panel.

      Click the boxes located next to the songs you wish to copy to checkmark them.

      Click "Copy" to copy the selected music files to your computer hard disk. The music will copy to "My Documents\My Music" folder by default. Once the copying process is complete, you may remove the music CD.
