How to Trigger Multiple MIDI Tracks in Ableton Live

Ableton Live is a music production program that enables you to create, edit and customize audio files. Triggering multiple MIDI tracks in it requires a music arrangement with two or more MIDI tracks. This requires setting parameters on the Follow Action Time. The Follow Action Time determines which order the selected MIDI tracks play. Only the "Session View" clips are allowed to be triggered.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the program and open a MIDI file. Highlight and double-click the selected MIDI samples on all tracks.

    • 2

Select the "Clip View Box" panel, which is located on the left drop-down menu. Select "Trigger" from the drop-down "Launch" window. Look under the "Quantization" tab and select "None."

    • 3

Click the "Follow Action" field and set the first row of the "Follow Action" field to "1,0,0." Scroll down to the "Follow Action Choosers" box and select which sample you want to play. Move the selection arrows up and down to set the sample order.
