How to Monitor Multiple MIDI Tracks in Ableton Live

Ableton Live music software allows you to edit and create audio in formats such as MIDI, MP3 and WAV. When you monitor multiple MIDI tracks, it is important to set the mixing console to the proper settings to be able to monitor the signal volume, effect volume and recording parameters of each track. The on-board mixer in Ableton Live enables you to customize the monitoring options of each individual MIDI track.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the software and select "File" from the top of the screen, then "Open." Select a MIDI file from the list of options.

    • 2

Scroll down to the "Mixer" section of the screen, at the bottom.

    • 3

Click the "Monitor" radio button, which is located in the mixer under each track. Click the "In" button, located under the "Monitor" section of the mixer, for each MIDI track.

    • 4
