How to Export Ableton to WAV

Ableton Live is a versatile program that allows you to accomplish many digital audio tasks. You can edit songs, create loops and even simulate synthesizers from within Ableton. Any sounds you record can be exported from Ableton as WAV files, for use in a variety of audio players. The process of exporting WAV files from Ableton Live is fairly straightforward.

      Open the desired project in Ableton Live.

      Switch to the "Arrangement" view. You can do this by selecting "Arrangement" in the View drop-down menu or by clicking on the small circular button with vertical lines in the upper right hand corner.

      Highlight the selected portion of the project you wish to export with your mouse. Make sure it is highlighted in orange. If you do not select a region, Ableton will export the audio within the loop markers by default.

      Select "Export Audio/Video" in the File drop-down menu. You can also access this command with the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl", "Shift" and "R."

      Select the desired tracks to export and confirm the WAV file format.

      Click "OK."

      Designate the file name and location for the exported WAV.

      Click "Save."
