Ensure that your system meets the minimum installation requirements. You will need 1.5 GB of hard drive space, 512 MB of RAM and a Pentium III or Athlon 1.8 GHz processor. Your screen must support at least an 800 by 600 resolution. You will also need a software sequencer or virtual instrument host (see Resources).
Insert the EZdrummer DVD into your computer and open the DVD folder. Double-click on the "Install" folder and locate the files named "EZdrummer Installer" and "EZX Cocktail Installer." Run these files and follow the on-screen instructions. The installer will automatically configure the correct settings for your host program. Double-check the settings to ensure that they are compatible.
Open your VST host program and load the EZdrummer plugin. On first launch, EZdrummer will present you with an authorization screen.
Register EZdrummer on the Toontrack website (see Resources). Enter your email into the website. Copy the "Computer ID" number from the EZdrummer VST plugin's authorization screen into the website's "Computer ID" field, then copy the serial number from the DVD case into the "Serial Number" field. Toontrack will send an authorization code to your email.
Open the email labeled "Authorization Code" in your email inbox. Copy the code into the field at the bottom of the EZdrummer authorization page. Click on the "Authorize" button to the right of the field. You will see a confirmation message, and EZdrummer will launch. Now you can get down to the fun part.
