How do I Configure the Steinberg Cubase 5 Control Room?

Steinberg's Cubase 5 is music software that enables you to mix, layer and record audio files with its on-board multi-track recorder. The Cubase 5 interface features a built-in control room in which you can adjust the volume of monitors, cue start and end points and create customized mixing channels. In order to configure the control room, you must set input volume, signal flow and channel parameters for each track.

      Open the software and click on the "Device" tab from the top of the screen. Select the "VST Connections" option from the side menu. Click the "Studio" tab, which is the last tab on the right of the screen.

      Click the "Add Channel" arrow on the upper left of the screen and select a "Studio," "Phones" or "Monitor" channel from the list of options.

      Select the "Inputs" tab on the "VST Connections" window and right-click and select the "Volume" option. Set the proper volume for each input track by typing in the desired number.

      Select the "Output" tab on the "VST Connections" window and right-click to select the "Volume," "Channel" and "Bus" option of each desired track.

      Disable and enable the control room by clicking the "Enable/Disable" button located in the "VST Connections" window.
