How to Set the Tempo in Pro Tools 7
It is important to correctly set a tempo when working in Pro Tools 7 for a number of reasons. Most importantly, the metronome relies on the tempo you set. In addition, many of the effects and editing tools can be adjusted so that they sync with the tempo of the track. Setting a tempo in Pro Tools 7 is easily completed in a few short steps.

Find the song-start marker on the upper left side of Pro Tools and double-click it. By default, the song-start marker is set to 140 beats per minute (BPM).

Type the tempo to which you would like to set the song in the "BPM" box.

Click "OK" to confirm the tempo change.
