Instructions

  1. Recording with the MF P01

    • 1

Make sure the MF P01 is turned off and all faders are turned all the way down before applying power. Connect headphones to the "PHONES" jack. Plug the microphone or instrument into the "MIC/LINE" jack.

    • 2

Switch the "POWER" switch to "ON." Insert a Type 2 cassette tape. Press "REWIND" to return the tape to the start. Press "PLAY" to listen to the tape to avoid accidentally erasing previous recordings which may be on the tape. Press "REWIND" again. Press "PLAY" again. Press "STOP" after 10 seconds. Press the counter reset button so it reads "000."

    • 3

Adjust the "INPUT LEVEL" fader while playing your instrument or singing into your microphone so the +6 indicator lights only at the loudest passages. Adjust the "MASTER" control to achieve a comfortable listening level in the headphones.

    • 4

Press the "REC FUNCTION" key for track one so the indicator flashes. Press the "RECORD" button to begin recording on track one, which causes the indicator to light steadily. Press "STOP" when done.

    • 5

Press the "REWIND" key. Press the "REC FUNCTION" key for track one to disable recording for the track. Press "PLAY" to listen to the newly recorded track. Proceed to Step 6 when satisfied with the recording.

    • 6

Press "REWIND" so the counter returns to "000." Press the "REC FUNCTION" key for track two. Sing or play your instrument while adjusting the recording level as described above in Step 3.

    • 7

Press "RECORD" to begin recording. Press "STOP" when finished. Press "REWIND" to return the tape to the beginning. Disable the "REC FUNCTION" key for track two to avoid accidentally recording over the newly recorded track. Press "PLAY" to listen to the playback. Repeat Step 3 through Step 7 as needed.
