Country Western Bars With Mechanical Bulls in Ontario

Originally made popular in the 1980 movie "Urban Cowboy," mechanical bulls have been entertaining crowds ever since, by allowing anyone to try riding a virtual bucking bronco. Today's mechanical bulls feature complex computer controls that provide a more realistic experience for beginners and experts alike. Safety features have also been introduced such as a "dead-man's switch" that stops the bull if the rider lets go of the reins, whether he is giving up or being thrown off. Trained operators can also stop the ride instantly, usually a split second before the rider is actually thrown. In Ontario, there are a number of bars that feature mechanical bulls.
  1. Dirty Dog Saloon

    • Dirty Dog Saloon is a popular Hamilton bar with a bad attitude. But that's a good thing for the throngs that pack the place every weekend. Dirty Dogs embraces sexuality with strategic brass poles on the dance-floor and "Dirty Girl" bartenders sporting suggestive attire. The DJ spins new and classic rock, and the drinks are cheap and plentiful. The mechanical bull is front and center at Dirty Dogs, with nightly prizes awarded for the best riders.

Saturday nights feature country music complete with line dancing lessons and zones for jive and trick dancing. On both nights, the mechanical bull awaits, challenging patrons to simply survive the ordeal.
