How to Create Karaoke Zip Files

A karaoke file combines both audio and video elements and is usually used on a CD-G compact disc. Due to having both audio and video elements on the file, the karaoke media tends to take up a large amount of room on the hard drive. If you want to save your karaoke files as backups (in case you ever need to create CD-G discs again), you need to compress the files into a Zip format in order to save room on the hard drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click one of the karaoke files you want to compress into a Zip file. From the pull-down menu, choose either "Zip" or "Compress." If using a Mac computer, the file is automatically compressed and saved into the same location as the original file. However, if using Windows, a Zip program loads onto the screen.

    • 2

Select a location to save the zipped karaoke file to. This is done through the "Browse" tab in the lower-right corner of the compression software.

    • 3

Click "OK" and the file compresses to the location selected.

    • 4

Repeat the Zip file compression method for all other karaoke files you want to reduce the file size for.
