Sony R7 Instructions

The Sony R7 is a digital reverberator that can add a number of effects to your audio, both at live shows and in a recording studio. Its inputs can handle both a microphone and a keyboard, allowing you to apply the effects to your vocals or a synthesizer. Mastery of all the different features of the Sony R7 will take careful study of the manual; however, it is set up with some pre-set modes to allow new users to jump right in and start using it.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect a keyboard to the inputs on the back of the unit if you are going to use one. If your keyboard uses standard 1/4" audio cables, connect it to input 1. If it uses a midi in/out cable, connect it to the midi port.

    • 2

Connect a microphone to input 2 if you are using a keyboard or input 1 if you are not.

    • 3

Insert the power cable into the back of the R7 and plug it into a power outlet. Press "Power" on the face of the unit.

    • 4

Consult the Preset Memory List booklet and select one of the 100 provided effect presets.

    • 5

Press the "Load" button, then turn the large wheel on the right of the unit's face to select the numbered preset you chose. Your selection will appear on the LED display next to the "Load" button.

    • 6

Turn the "Input" button to achieve the desired volume. Turn the knobs for channels 1 and 2 individually if you are using both inputs to achieve the desired balance between the two.

    • 7

Adjust the "Dry" and "Effect" knobs until you have the desired balance of effect and clean source. The higher the "Dry" level is, the more you will hear of the unaltered source, and the higher the "Effect" level is the more effect you will hear.
