Country Nightclubs in Houston

In a place that hosts one of the largest and oldest livestock show and rodeos in the country, but is also home to massive freeways and skyscrapers, Houston is where big city living meets old west style and culture. When night falls, Houstonians and visitors enjoy country nightclubs that feature live music, country dancing and country cooking.
  1. Blanco's Bar & Grill

    • According to Blanco's Bar & Grill's website, the country nightclub was named best country bar from 2000 to 2007 by the "Houston Press." There is always something happening at Blanco's, as the country nightclub features live music, drink and food specials and charity events. Happy Hour starts at 11 a.m. and continues until the nightclub closes. Ladies night is every Wednesday. Live music is featured every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There is no cover charge on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

    Firehouse Salon

    • Firehouse Salon is open three days out of the week (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) and has been a mainstay on Houston's southwest side for more than 17 years. The nightclub features live music, DJs, and dancing. Grab a drink during a happy hour that takes place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

    Wild West Houston

    • Located on Houston's famed Richmond Strip, Wild West Houston is where the mostly young, hip and country frequent. According to Wild West Houston's website, the country nightclub was voted one of the top 100 nightclubs and bars in the country for 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 by "Nightclub and Bar" magazine.

      Wild West Houston has a long list of events every month that includes live music. Wednesday nights are college nights. Free pool is offered on Thursdays. A Friday happy hour that includes a free buffet starts at 5 p.m. Also on Fridays, women can enter Wild West Houston's $50 "You've Got the Look" contest. Free country dance lessons are offered Sunday nights from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Patrons can enjoy a free fajita buffet after dance lessons.

    The Armadillo Palace

    • The Armadillo Place combines everything that is country under one roof. There is live country music with a focus on Texas musicians, country cooking and a country store that sells barbecue sauces, pies and grilling equipment.

      There is never a cover charge at The Armadillo Palace. Every month there is a roster jammed packed with musicians. In the warmer months, food and drink specials are best enjoyed outside on the country nightclub's popular patio. It's not hard to find The Armadillo Palace. Look for a huge 14-foot tall, 22-foot wide statue of an armadillo out front.

    Brazos River Bottom

    • Brazos River Bottom in Houston's heavily gay populated Montrose neighborhood caters to a gay men and lesbian clientele. A popular draw for patrons is the club's weekly free dance lessons that teach country line dancing and couple's dancing lessons. When they are not learning how to dance, patrons hit the dance floor to demonstrate what they have learned in class, or add their personal stamp to a dance move. Music, drink specials, charity events and special events, such as the "Mr., Miss, and Mrs. BRB Pageant" and the Denim Party add to this county nightclub's charm.
