Karaoke Bars in Little Rock

First popularized in East Asia, karaoke (Japanese for "empty orchestra") is a leisure activity in which participants sing along to pre-recorded music, usually instrumental versions of well-known pop songs. The lyrics are displayed on a monitor in time with the music, allowing the singer and sometimes the audience to follow along. While venues dedicated solely to karaoke are common in Asia, in the United States the activity is often used as a gimmick by bars and nightclubs to attract customers during typically slow weeknights. Several venues in the Little Rock, Arkansas, area offer weekly karaoke events. A few sweeten deal with drink specials and no cover charge.
