Turn the volume down on your guitar amp or on the mixer channel you'll be using for the flanger pedal. Power the amp "Off."
Connect your flanger pedal to your guitar via a 1/4 inch to 1/4 inch audio cable. Plug one end of the cable into the audio jack on your guitar. Plug the opposite end into the "Guitar In" port on the pedal. If you're using a bass guitar, plug it into the pedal's "Bass In" port.
Use another piece of 1/4 inch to 1/4 inch audio cable to connect the pedal to your amp or mixing board. Plug one end of the cable into the "In" port on your amp or mixer. Plug the opposite end into the pedal's "Out" port.
Power on your amp "On," and then raise its volume to the desired level. Plug the effect pedal's power supply into the pedal's power port, and then plug the power supply into a wall outlet. Step on the flanger's stomp, or "On/Off," button to engage the effect.
Turn the flanger pedal's "Rate" or "Speed" knob to the left or right to increase or decrease the intensity of the effects. Adjust the "Delay" knob to decrease or increase the amount of resonance applied to the flanger effect.
Turn the "Depth" knob to the left or right to widen or compact the flanger's chorus effect. Widening the flanger effect works well for rhythm guitar, and compacting it sounds great for lead.
Press the stomp button to power the flanger pedal "Off."
