Open the iTunes program on your iMac. ITunes is a free download available online (see Resources), but it is often pre-installed into iMac models. By utilizing this tool, you will create a DJ music mix of your favorite songs. Become familiar with iTunes features such as the iTunes Store, podcasts and radio.
Make a music playlist. From the "File" menu, click "New Playlist." You can also click the small "+" sign on the bottom panel to complete the same task. An untitled playlist will appear on the left-hand navigation bar.
Double-click the playlist to rename the music mix. Notice pre-programmed playlists, such as "Top 25 Most Played," to trigger your title muse. Oftentimes, music playlists are named after a specific genre---such as Electronica, Holiday, Pop or Alternative---artist or mood (such as Low-key or High-energy).
Compile music. Drag and drop songs into your new playlist from your music Library, or download new songs from the iTunes Store. You can also right-click pre-purchased music and select "Add to Playlist."
Enjoy your playlist. DJ away by clicking "Play" on iTunes, burning an audio CD (perfect for club DJs or playing music in the car) or plugging in your MP3 player and uploading your new playlist.
