How to Make an MP3 CD on iTunes

Making an MP3 CD on iTunes is useful for when you do not have an MP3 player but still would like to take your MP3s with you on the road. Since MP3 CDs are limited only by the data capacity of a CD-R (typically 700 megabytes), they can hold many more songs than an audio CD, which is limited by the maximum length of a CD (typically 80 minutes).

Instructions

    • 1

      Open iTunes.

    • 2

Click "File," then "New Playlist" to create a new playist. Creating a new playlist will allow you to organize the songs that you would like to burn to an MP3 CD.

    • 3

Name the new playlist that appears by double-clicking it and typing in a name to represent your MP3 CD. ITunes will use this playlist name as the title of your MP3 CD.

    • 4

Find the songs in your iTunes library that you would like to burn to the MP3 CD and drag them into the playlist you created.

    • 5

Organize the songs within the playlist when finished adding songs to it.

    • 6

Click "Burn Disc" in the bottom right-hand corner of the iTunes window.

    • 7

Select "MP3 CD" as the "Disc Format."

    • 8

Press "Burn" and then insert a blank CD into your computer when prompted by iTunes. Once the CD has finished burning, eject it and you will have successfully made an MP3 CD on iTunes.
