How to Make a Radio Station on iTunes

iTunes is an advanced media player that stores your music and video files in its browser for easy playing, organization and navigation. In iTunes, you can choose from a variety of Internet radio stations to enjoy. However, if you do not like the options that iTunes has to offer, you may make your own radio playlist based on your favorite Internet radio station. Follow these steps to make a radio station within iTunes.

Instructions

    • 1

Open iTunes from your start menu. You will need to launch iTunes to make a radio station.

    • 2

Choose "Advanced" from the Menu bar at the top of the iTunes browser. Select "Open Audio Stream" from the drop-down menu.

    • 3

Copy the URL of your favorite online Internet station into the box that appears on your screen. For example, if you want iTunes to play your local radio station, visit the website and copy the live stream URL into the iTunes Open Audio Stream box.

    • 4

Click "OK." iTunes will connect to the URL and read the stream of your station.

    • 5

Click "Radio" on the left-side of your iTunes browser under the heading "Library." The list of pre-selected iTunes stations will be there along with the station you have just added. Double-click your station to begin streaming the radio from your iTunes.
