Download and install Audacity on your computer from the link provided in Resources below.
Launch Audacity after installation completes, and import your song file in it.
Click the small arrow right next to the title of the track. This will open the menu for this track.
Select “Split Stereo Track.”
Click the lower track that lies just besides the mute/solo button.
Select the option “Invert” from the “Effects” menu.
Change each track into “Mono” from the track menus.
Click the “Play” button. Now you will only hear the instrumental version of the song.
Save the file by selecting “Export” from the “File” menu.
Click the second link in Resources and click on “Trial Download” to download a free trial version of the application on your computer. When it downloads, double-click the file and follow the installation instructions to install it.
Launch the application after it installs and click on “File” > “Open” > “Open from Library.” Now select the song that you want to remove the vocals from.
Click on the button “Active” under the playlist box. Open the list from the right side of the button and select the option “Voice Remover.” You will find three control elements here: “Center Width,” “Center Filtering,” and “Vocal Patch.”
Move the slider of “Center Width” to the right. The more you shift this slider, the greater is the voice removed; so keep going slowly until you are satisfied with the result.
Move the first slider of “Center Filtering” to the right to remove sound completely. Move the second slider of “Center Filtering” to reduce the overall noise in the sound.
Move the slider of “Vocal Patch” to the right to select the frequency of the voice signal of the singer.
Click the button “Morph Selected Files” once you have moved the sliders and are satisfied with the results. A dialog box will appear on the screen where you have to select a folder for saving the file. Once you select the file, click “Morph” and the file will be saved on the selected folder.
Click the third link in Resources to download Mixcraft. When you open the page, click on “Download.” Run the file after it downloads to install it.
Click the fourth link in Resources to download a plugin for Mixcraft required for removing vocals from songs.
Launch Mixcraft on the computer and go to “File” > “Open” to select the song for which you want to remove vocals.
Click the “FX Button” located on “Track 1.” A dialog box will now appear. Click on “Select New Effect to Add.” In the drop-down list, select the plugin you just downloaded in Step 2.
Select the preset “Full Spectrum (HR).” This will give you better sound results. Click “Play” in Mixcraft. Now you will hear the song without vocals. Go to “File” > “Save” to save this file.
