How to Change Key Commands in Pro Tools 7.4

Pro Tools is one of the most powerful pieces of DAW (digital audio workstation) software available. By giving you a wide range of tools at your fingertips, Pro Tools can change the way you make music. Being able to customize key commands (shortcuts) can greatly increase your productivity in Pro Tools, allowing you to focus more on what matters: your music. While Pro Tools does not natively support custom key commands, there are ways to get around this.

Instructions

    • 1

In Mac OS X, open "System Preferences."

    • 2

Select "Keyboard," then the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tab.

    • 3

      Select "Application Shortcuts."

    • 4

Select the "+" to add a new keyboard shortcut.

    • 5

Select "Pro Tools" from the application list. Enter the name of the menu command exactly as it appears in Pro Tools, then type in a corresponding keyboard shortcut.

    • 6

Click "Add." Repeat for more keyboard shortcuts.
