How to Convert Music to MIDI

According to the MIDI Manufacturers Association, Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is a set of "performance instructions and not a digital version of a sound recording." In its own unique language, a MIDI file tells you "what notes are to be played and for how long, as well as the tempo, which instruments are to be played, and at what relative volumes." Converting an audio file to MIDI is simple. You'll need to download a program to convert music to MIDI.
