Plug your instrument into the "Input" jack on the Regenerator using one of your instrument cables. Plug the Regenerator into the amplifier using the "Output" jack on the pedal and your second instrument cable.
Lower the volume level on the amplifier before powering it on. Turn the amplifier on and slowly raise the volume level, strumming your instrument until you reach your desired volume.
Use the mode selector switch on the pedal to initiate the phaser, flanger or chorus effect. Each of the effects will use the adjustable knobs at the top of the pedal to configure their individual characteristics. In addition to the standard operating modes of these effects, the Regenerator includes "vintage" simulations of each effect, adding a mellow quality to the outgoing sound.
Use the speed and depth knobs to control the rate of effects processing and the intensity of the effect. These parameters can be used with all of the onboard effects processors.
Adjust the rate of signal return using the "Regen" knob. If the regeneration rate is increased, the outgoing signal will pass back through the pedal unit an increasing number of times, exaggerating the intensity of the effect. Eric Kirkland, a columnist at "Guitar World," describes the effects processing of the Regenerator to be "reserved at all but the most extreme settings."
