How to Save MP3 Music to a DVD

DVDs are a great digital storage medium for your MP3 music collection because they have such a large capacity. A single DVD can hold up to 4.7 GB of data. Saving MP3 music to a DVD is a straightforward process. To do so, you can simply burn the MP3s to a data DVD. This can be done on any recordable DVD (DVD-R). You can complete this task in minutes.

Instructions

  1. On a PC

    • 1

      Put a blank DVD-R in your DVD burner.

      Choose the "Burn Files to Data Disc" option from the pop-up menu.

      Click the "Show Formatting Options" link in the burning menu. Select "Mastered."

      Click "Next" and drag the MP3s you want to save to a DVD into the empty burn folder that appears.

      Click "Burn Disc" inside the burn folder when you have finished adding music to it.

      Eject the DVD-R from your burner when the process is complete.

    On a Mac

      Click "Finder," "File," "New Burn Folder."

      Double-click the folder. Drag the MP3s you want to save to a DVD into it.

      Click "Burn" inside the folder when finished adding MP3s to it.

      Insert a blank DVD-R into your DVD burner.

      Eject the DVD-R when the process is complete.
