How to Change Detailed Metadata in MP3 Tags with Mp3tag

Adding metadata to MP3 files allows you to view artist, track and album information on a device, such as an iPod or Zune, or in a music player, such as iTunes or Winamp. The program Mp3tag easily decodes MP3 files so you can add metadata using a simple graphical interface. You can also add a year and track number to the file, if desired.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Mp3tag program. Click "File" and select "Add Directory." Choose your music folder or directory and click "Open."

    • 2

Click the MP3 file you want to edit metadata for. The files will appear in the program's center screen. The current metadata will appear in the left pane.

    • 3

Edit the MP3's metadata in the left pane. Replace the existing data with the desired data.

    • 4

Click the "Save" icon to save the changes to the MP3.
