Start with the top lid of your right eye. Pull the skin gently taut from the outer corner of your eye with one hand, and with the other, gently draw a thin line of eyeliner from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye. Do not draw any eyeliner outside the outer corner of your eye (i.e. do not give yourself a "cleopatra" appearance). Draw the line as evenly and straight along your upper eye lid as possible.
Repeat this procedure on the top lid of the left eye. Make sure lines on both eyelids are as even as possible.
Go to the bottom lid of your right eye. Gently pull the skin taut in a downwards direction and draw a thick line of eyeliner from the inner corner of your eye to the outer corner, making sure to follow the path and curve of your bottom eye lid. Make the line as close to the edge of your eye as possible, without actually applying liner to the inner edge.
Repeat this procedure on the bottom lid of your left eye. Make sure lines on both eyelids are as even as possible.
Apply a thick second line of eyeliner to the bottom of each eye lid again to make it appear a little thicker than the top lid. Wipe away any smudges or repair mistakes with a Q-tip or tissue.
Remove eyeliner with warm water and gentle soap, or makeup remover. Pat your eyes gently.
