Plan ahead. Many sitcoms film primarily between August and March. If you have a specific show you want to see, plan accordingly. Game shows and talk shows are usually filmed all year long. Keep in mind most shows film on weekdays. Many shows will film in the late afternoon or early evening.
Review restrictions. Many television shows do not allow children under the age of eighteen into a filming. There are exceptions such as children's television shows.
Make reservations. Request tickets months in advance if you want to attend a taping of a popular sitcom. Tickets can be requested online at a number of websites. Tickets may also be requested on the websites of game shows and talk shows.
Stop by Grauman's Chinese Theater. This tourist attraction is located on Hollywood Boulevard. For some shows employees from the studio will be handing out free tickets to attend a taping.
Show up early at the taping. To be sure you get in plan to show up about 45 minutes earlier then suggested. Most shows do not have a seat for every ticket they give out. They want to be sure they have a full studio. Plan to wait in line for a while.
Display courtesy. Your bag will be searched before you enter the studio. You are not allowed to bring in a camera, video equipment or cell phones. Keep in mind the actors are working. If you do anything that disrupts the taping or is inappropriate you will be escorted out by security.
