How do I Hide Pregnancy on TV Shows?

Many television shows have had to deal with a lead actress getting pregnant. Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker, Will and Grace's Deborah Messing and Frasier's Jane Leves were all pregnant while shooting. Instead of writing the pregnancy into the show, directors worked to hide the pregnancy from viewers. There are many ways for you to camouflage your pregnancy when filming a television show.

Things You'll Need

  • Over-sized clothing

Instructions

    • 1

Wear large accessories, like several long necklaces or big flowing scarves. These accessories can detract from a growing stomach.

    • 2

Wear a large purse on the arm that faces the camera. When you turn to the side, the purse will hide your pregnancy bump.

    • 3

Place yourself behind counters and furniture, or remain seated for scenes. This technique will also keep your bump from showing.

    • 4

Wear over-sized tops and flowing dresses. Make sure to keep the fashion trendy so it doesn't stick out, and keep form-fitting clothing to a minimum.

    • 5

Use props you can place in front of your belly to hide the baby bump, such as newspapers, books and shopping bags, when the scene permits.
