Information on Naruto Villages

In the world of the popular anime and manga "Naruto," created by Masashi Kishimoto, there are several different countries, each with their own hidden ninja village. Each village has its own leader and contains a large population of ninjas as part of the country's military power. Countries with high ninja populations are said to have more power than those with less ninjas.
  1. Hidden Leaf Village

    • Located in the powerful Fire Country, Hidden Leaf Village has one of the largest ninja populations. Headed by a man called Danzou, Hidden Leaf Village is the location of the attack from the Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit that ended with its spirit being trapped into the body of protagonist Naruto. It is the home of Naruto and fellow protagonist Sasuke as well as Sasuke's older brother Itachi, known for killing his entire ninja clan.

    Hidden Cloud Village

    • Hidden Cloud Village is located above the mountains of Lightning Country and waged war with Hidden Leaf Village prior to the beginning of the "Naruto" series. Its leader is a man called Raikage, whose brother is Killer Bee, a ninja who has the spirit of an Eight-Tailed Ox-Cephalopod Demon inside of him.

    Hidden Mist Village

    • Led by a woman named Godaime Mizukage, Hidden Mist Village is located in the island nation known as Water Country. This area is troubled by infighting among citizens, ninja and the government itself, with normal citizens blaming the nation's problems on the powerful ninja clans and the government struggling to maintain peace.

    Hidden Rock Village

    • Located within the mountains of the very large Earth Country and with buildings made from rocks, Hidden Rock Village was engaged in war with Hidden Leaf Village 13 years before "Naruto" the series began. Its leader is Tsuchikage, an aging ninja. Because the nation has a tendency for war, Hidden Rock Village tends to go to war with many smaller neighboring countries.

    Hidden Sand Village

    • Hidden Sand Village is located in Wind Country and its leader is a young man named Gaara, who serves as host to a spirit of a One-Tailed Demon Tanuki. Hidden Sand Village is known for the misfortunes that befall its leaders, with several of its leaders having either disappeared or gotten killed. At one point during "Naruto" the villain Orochimaru convinces Hidden Sand Village to attack Hidden Leaf Village, an endeavor that involves Orochimaru assassinating their leader prior to Gaara.

    Hidden Waterfall Village

    • Little is known about the Hidden Waterfall Village, located in Waterfall Country. Visitors must enter the village through an entrance hidden behind a waterfall. Hidden Waterfall Village is known for a substance called Hero Water, which increases a ninja's powers at the expense of his life. Their leader, Shibuki, came to power after his father died from drinking Hero Water.

    Hidden Sound Village

    • Hidden Sound Village is in Rice Field Country, and boasts a diverse population of ninjas from different clans and countries. Their leader is Orochimaru, the villain of the "Naruto" series, who is originally from Hidden Leaf Village.
