How to Rent Movies on Redbox

Redbox is a relatively new movie provider located outside of your local Mcdonald's restaurant or grocery store. With a wide selection of movies and multiple Redbox kiosks, Redbox is easily accessible and inexpensive, charging $1 per night. To get ready for your next movie night, follow just a few easy steps.

      Find a Redbox. If you have not noticed a Redbox in your hometown yet, visit redbox.com and locate one through its online search feature. Click on the “Find a Redbox” tab at the top of the screen. Either enter your zip code or use your address to find the closest Redbox to your location. Click “Continue.” You will be able to view all Redbox kiosks in your area. Select the Redbox you prefer.

      At the Redbox kiosk, use the touch screen to preview movie titles. Touch the “Find a Movie” option to open the list of available movies. Select to view movies sorted by release date or name. New releases are added every Tuesday.

      View the various genres available, including children’s movies, sci-fi, drama and comedy. View the movie’s ratings and read a plot description by touching the movie you would like to preview.

      Touch the “Purchase This Movie” option. You will be directed to a screen asking you to swipe a credit or debit card. After swiping your card, follow the instructions for entering the required information to start up your Redbox account. When these steps are completed, the movie will be dispensed. When you rent movies subsequently, you will only have to swipe your card and enter your zip code.

      Return the movie to any Redbox kiosk. You have until 9 p.m. the next day to do so. If you do not return the movie in time, you will be charged $1 and have until 9 p.m. the following day to return it. Redbox charges a dollar for each day the movie is late, up to 25 days. At that point, you own the movie.
