Create an account at the Redbox website (see Resources section). As with any online retailer, Redbox requires its users to create an account linked to an email address and protected by a password. This is the only information required to create an account, but a valid debit or credit card will ultimately be necessary to reserve a movie.
Pick a movie. The Redbox website contains titles and descriptions for hundreds of movies in a variety of categories. Click on the picture of the movie poster to read more about a movie and begin the reservation process.
Find a location. Once you've selected a movie title, you can enter your ZIP code to display the nearest Redbox kiosks. Some of these locations may be McDonald's restaurants. If the movie is available at a specific location, a red "Rent" button will appear next to the address. Click the button to rent the movie from this location.
Check out. The checkout page allows you to enter your billing information and store it for future convenience if you desire. You can reserve multiple titles prior to checking out. The checkout screen also gives you the deadline by which you must pick up your movie from the kiosk, usually 9 p.m. the following day.
Pick up your movie and return it on time. To claim your reserved movie, simply travel to the kiosk location and swipe the card you used to reserve the movie. The DVD will drop from the machine. Note that the movie can be returned to any kiosk location but must be returned before 9 p.m. the day after it is rented or else a late fee will apply.
